Dovetail Bits

A dovetail joint or simply dovetail is a joint technique most commonly used in woodworking joinery. Noted for its resistance to being pulled apart (tensile strength), the dovetail joint is commonly used to join for example the sides of a drawer to the front or the panels of a box. A series of pins cut to extend from the end of one board interlock with a series of tails cut into the end of another board. The pins and tails have a trapezoidal shape. Once glued, a wooden dovetail joint requires no mechanical fasteners. Dimar carbide tipped 2 flutes Dovetail bits will cut all composition materials, plywoods, hardwoods and softwoods.

We offer bits designed for name brand dovetail jigs that require special bits for cutting half-blind and through dovetails.(Leigh, Keller, Omnijig and Incra™).
In addition to our standard Right Hand Rotation Bits, Dimar offers a unique selection of LEFT HAND Rotation Dovetail bits, as well as Template and pattern routing Dovetail bits with Ball bearing guides and Dovetail bits with Spurs (Specifically designed for gluing applications of Dovetails).
