Biscuits

In woodworking, there are many joints from which to choose, but the wood biscuit joint is definitely the most popular method, often noted for its strength and accuracy.
A wood biscuit is fitted into a slot usually created with a biscuit jointer machine or using a slotting cutter on a router. When the biscuit comes into contact with water based glue it swells thus creating a 'locked' joint. Wood Biscuits work well on T-joints, miter joints, corner joints and edge-to-edge joints.
Dimar’s line of wood biscuits is renowned in the woodworking industry for their quality and craftsmanship. Each Dimar joiner biscuit is made from high quality, European made Beechwood. This material was chosen specifically by the Dimar engineering department for its exceptionally strong and stiff nature, not to mention that Beech has the highest stock resistance of any native wood.

Dimar offers the three most popular biscuit sizes (#0, #10, #20 and Mixed) for use with all standard Biscuit Joiner machines including Porter Cable, Lamello, Freud, Dewalt, Ryobi and other well-known manufacturers. Dimar’s wood biscuits are supplied in bags of 100 pieces (10 bags per size) as well as in boxes of 1000 pieces. All Dimar biscuits are factory sealed in nylon bags to maintain moisture content and dimensional stability.

All Dimar biscuits feature unique qualities, not available through other manufacturers. Some of these unique features include:

  • Premium quality, European made Beech wood for strength and durability
  • Deep grooves for maximum glue application, which allows the wood to swell to the precise width
  • Consistent thickness (5/32”) for proper insertion, less spoilage and best value
  • Flat surfaces for optimum positioning
  • Smooth edge, splinter free wood for easy handling
  • Each biscuit is embossed with its size for easy identification and selection
